Social Emotional Support
At NCPA, we not only support students in academics, but also in social emotional. Our counselors help students develop positive attitudes toward self, school, family, and community. Starting from the beginning of this new school year, counselors have provided child protection training to faculty and students. Every Monday and Wednesday, Grade 9 students attend advisory classes planned by counselors. When needed, counselors will meet one-on-one with students to support their growth professionally, confidentially, and respectfully. Our counselors also encourage peers’ support. BigSibs is a student leadership organization to encourage students to help others, which is also under counselors’ supervision. Besides, counselors deliver parent workshops several times throughout the year to help parents understand their teenager's social emotional needs and how to communicate with them better and support their child's wellbeing.
