Pre-AP Visual Arts for Grade 10-12
Starting from this school year, NCPA is offering Pre-AP Visual Arts courses to Grade 10-12. By taking Pre-AP Visual Arts, students will acquire the skills required for AP Studio Art. At the same time, Pre-AP Visual Arts has high requirements on speaking, reading, writing and research, which will fully prepare students for the AP Courses in the future. This course’s areas of focus are practices that students develop and leverage as they engage with content: analysis and interpretation, peer-to-peer dialogue, reflective writing and experimentation. These areas of focus are vertically aligned to the practices embedded in other Arts courses in high school, giving students multiple opportunities to strengthen and deepen their work with relevant skills throughout their educational career.
