New Fall’s MAP Test
Every year, we will conduct Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test twice for students at grade 7 to 11, which is a computer adaptive assessment made by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA). The MAP test assesses students’ ability in reading, language usage and math. It provides each student with a unique test experience that is suitable for his/her academic level, independent of grades. The test is a useful tool for both administrators and teachers. For the school, we use the test to compare our students with American students. It enables administrators to better evaluate the effectiveness of our curriculum as well as teachers’ teaching. For teachers, the test helps them better understand students’ needs and check their progress in English and math. Also, they can use the test result to guide their teaching strategies.
