Handshake Market in AP Microeconomics
After learning the basic concepts of economics in the previous unit, Mr. Benelli led the students to start learning in the "Supply and Demand" unit. Different from the traditional teacher-led classes, Mr. Benelli designed many interesting activities to allow students to perceive the changes and impacts of supply and demand in the market through experiments. Students played the roles of "seller" and "buyer" and traded in different markets such as free competition markets, government price limits, low prices of substitutes, and taxes on sellers, etc. Students learnt the impact of different factors on the market through the amount and number of transactions. After the activities, students summarized and analyzed economic concepts through graphics, charts and data analysis.
