NCPA Athletics Mission Statement:
The mission of NCPA Athletics is to give an opportunity to students to participate in a variety of quality competitive sports and to learn what it means to be a student athlete. It is our goal that all student athletes learn to display sportsmanship and understand what it means to be a competitor while developing respect and appreciation for the sport as a whole. Through all of this, the ultimate goal is that NCPA student athletes are able to Negotiate, Collaborate, Plan, and Achieve in order to be successful during their involvement in sport competitions, in the classroom, and in their personal lives.
NCPA competes in two conferences: the Pearl River Conference, composed of international schools from the Pearl River Delta; and ACAMIS, a China-wide international school conference.
Pearl River Conference (PRC)
PRC Mission Statement: “The mission of Pearl River Conference-High School is to promote youth development by providing regular, competitive sporting contests in a well-structured environment for students of international schools in the Pearl River Delta area. These competitions will instill in their students and coaches a philosophy of sportsmanship and fair play.”
The PRC allows NCPA high school students the opportunity to travel to opposing international schools for friendly competitions and a seasonal tournament in the three main sports:
- Volleyball (September – November)
- Basketball (November – February)
- Soccer (February – May)
In addition to seasonal sports, NCPA high school students also have an opportunity to compete in invitational events hosted by PRC member schools:
- Tennis (October)
- Ping Pong (November)
- Badminton (February & April)
- Cross Country (February & March)
NCPA has been a member of the PRC since 2013.
In 2015, NCPA hosted the Boys Division II Pearl River Conference Soccer Tournament.
In 2016, NCPA hosted the Boys and Girls Division I Pearl River Conference Basketball Tournament.

“The Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) was conceived in 1999 by a few schools in China and Mongolia that were searching for a way to have their athletic teams participate in post-season tournament play.”
“Today, ACAMIS has a membership of 68 schools ranging in size from less than 300 pupils to over 2,500 in Mongolia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.”
“In addition to the continued connections for students through sports tournaments and cultural events, ACAMIS also helps school staff through professional development programs and networking opportunities.”
Since ACAMIS is compromised of international schools outside of the Pearl River Delta, NCPA students that compete in ACAMIS events are given the opportunity to travel to competitions to represent NCPA.
Being a countrywide international school organization, ACAMIS competition participation is a great accomplishment for NCPA students to put on a college application.
ACAMIS allows NCPA high school students the opportunity to travel to opposing international schools for a seasonal tournament in the three major sports:
- Volleyball (November)
- Basketball (February)
- Soccer (April)
In addition to the major ACAMIS sports, NCPA high school students also have an opportunity to compete in invitational events at international schools in cities across Mongolia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan hosted by ACAMIS: Tennis, Badminton, Golf, Cross Country, and Swimming.
NCPA has been a member of ACAMIS since 2015.
