All NCPA students are welcome to join the Math Olympiad! This team, which meets as an after-school activity (ASA), is dedicated to studying challenging problem sets that extend beyond and make complex connections between the school curriculum. Members participate in prestigious mathematics competitions across the globe. The team's most notable resources are previously released exams from the American Mathematics Competitition and the Amerian Invitational Mathematics Examination. In order to foster a stronger sense of community, the team is student-led, with three to four leaders volunteering to solve complex problems ahead of the team meetings, and then present those problems to the team. After each student leader has presented their problems, the team then practices in groups of four to tackle the rest of the problems from each exam. In addition to training for mathematics competitions, the team is also tasked with organizing, hosting, and marketing NCPA mathematics events.
